32 Teenagers and Only 1 Chaperone
On this trip the school district took 32 teenagers on a 3 day, 2 night
trip with only one adult/chaperone. Mr. Dave Dilley (at the time Director
of Student and Personnel Services) admitted to Mr. Chuck Piechota that
this was a mistake. This year for a trip to Indianapolis they took 1
chaperone for every 8 students. By that count they should have had 4
chaperones on the trip to Greeley.
So the school district made a mistake that facilitated the situation,
yet they still had to expel these kids. The only mistake that mattered
was the one the kids made.
